The poster who first talked about apartments did NOT say high rise, so it is safe to assume he was NOT talking about high rise ONLY.
P.S. If you have to keep a window cracked to let the cord in, you CAN stuff a towel in the crack.

No, I do not have a reading comprehension problem, I was simply pointing out that they are not an option for everyone.
It's never safe to assume anything. He said apartment. There are many kinds of apartments. Some are high rises. In the New York area, MANY are high rises. As to why I brought it up, I did so because someone earlier in the thread said anyone with common sense would be prepared, by having a generator.
Also, I know you can stuff a towel in the crack. I did that, and until I moved the generator further from the window, my CO detector was still reading at an unsafe level.
You seem to want to argue for the sake of doing so. Why?
