The House Intelligence Committee found not evidence of Russian collusion, but it did in fact find evidence that James Clapper may have leak the dossier story to the media.
This kind of breach from such a senior member of the intelligence community is a direct threat to our national security.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper allegedly leaked information to CNN early last year regarding the classified briefings given to then President-Elect Donald Trump and President Barrack Obama on the salacious dossier claiming the Russians had compromising information on the president-elect, according to government sources, who noted the evidence of the leak was collected during the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation.
But according to government sources Clapper, who is not mentioned in the report released Monday, had spoken to CNN at roughly the same time Jake Tapper broke the first story regarding the briefings conducted by senior intelligence officials with Trump and Obama on the dossier. Tapper’s story, which published in January 2017, created a snowball effect of allegations in the media that Trump’s campaign had allegedly colluded with the Russians in the 2016 election and that Russia had compromising material on Trump, sources with knowledge of the investigation concluded.
There is a reason, both Brennen & Clapper to be openly discussing the assassination of Trump. They fear what was suppose to stay hidden, when Hillary was put into office.
It was apparently well-known before the election around D.C. that the dossier existed. What is your theory on why Clapper would wait until after the election to leak details about it ?
They all thought Hillary was going to win. She didn't, so this was an attempt to discredit/smear/malign the legitimate winner, Trump.

And you had the meeting with Obama and high ups in administration and the email to themself saying something like" to recap the meeting, Obama said to do this all by the book"
Trying to cover up the misdeeds of Obama and the high up personnel.
Yes, that is the January 4th meeting in this timeline.
January 4 2017- Clapper, DOJ, FBI officials meet with Obama at the White House to discuss the Russian investigation (Confirmed by Susan Rice email)
January 5 2017- Comey briefs Trump on dossier claims (Confirmed by media reports, and Comey's memos)
January 6-7 2017- Clapper leaks to CNN, and media reports about the Russian conspircy theory begin. (Confirmed by House Intel Committee report)

The problem with your post is that there is no evidence of any wrongdoing by Trump.
On the other hand, we know Clapper was leaking to the media to create a false narrative, then lied about to congress.

Clapper was a lying scum bag long before Trump became relevant.
What crap. That dossier was circulating to the media throughout NY and DC for six months prior to it becoming public.
Clapper had ZERO to do with this.

The media had held back on the dossier because it lacked credibility. Clapper and other officials used their clout to get the information out by allowing the media to use unnamed intelligence sources as vouching for its credibility.
If you've watched Clapper and Brennan testify (youtube) you will be amazed at what lousy liars they are. A five-year old is more believable. They never thought they'd get caught.
