When only one party needs to obey the rules, that is unfairness.

My brother served in the Marine Corps and has done ops overseas. If he was captured, I would think it was his lucky day if they only chose to waterboard him. Fact.

However you want to think of me is your choice.

It's not about obeying the rules or fairness (whine whine whine). It's about doing the right thing because it is the right thing. Torture is wrong. Period.

er, what?

You think it's fine if we waterboard people but also execute people who waterboard American soldiers? And that's one rule for all?

Apparently you lack math skills as well as morals.

It is torture.

The fact that you want to call it something besides torture shows that you don't support torture at all. But it is torture. And America does not torture its prisoners. We don't. Not just because it's a horrible thing to do, or because studies have shown that it isn't productive, but because of what it does to the people who actually have to commit the act. It kills that person, when he or she puts aside their sense of humanity, something inside them dies. You can't look at other human beings that way, intending to torture them, and not lose something precious that defines who you are as a human being. For the American people to ask that of our fellow Americans is simply unspeakable.
