Mayor Michael "Gomez"? Go figure he'd claim that the good walls don't work. What type of wall/fence were illegal aliens trying to jump over in Douglas? Most of the so-called walls on our southern border are mere fences so of course they'd be able to jump over them. That's the reason we need the good double layered walls erected on 700 miles of our most porous areas of the border to replace the flimsy "fences".

What do you mean "the Tucson area"? Tucson is about 60 miles from the border
I've never disputed that, we are talking about a 700 mile long wall here, 18-30 feet tall for which no one except Trump and his sycophants can explain why we need it.

As you get down toward the border like Sierra Vista the whole climate changes. Sierra Vista and Cochise County is not in the least interested in limiting the Mexicans. And in that location lots of Mexicans come up for the day and go home that night. Suppression of illegals in that area is actually pretty easy. There are a very limited number of ways to go north and the ICE checkpoints are ver effective. Traffic is low enough that it is relatively easy to pick off Those trying to get up to the interstate. Minor local nuisance do to the check points but nothing really upsetting the locals. And it could be easily made almost airtight without a single wall. The barriers erected there are really to stop drug running by preventing the movement of vehicles across the desert. And the drug smugglers in that area are very likely to be American citizens.
I am very excited about the dotard getting is wall built, and anxious to see him and the deplorables walled in. They seem to want isolation so much, let 'em wallow in it.
You know, it was the Democrats who were screaming for border security and railing against illegal immigration only 30 years ago. That’s not very long.
So what changed? Unless you are only capable of immature rants I would like your opinion on that.
Any mention of wall and lefties go nuts. Sooo afraid he will get this done and thier base will become stagnant. It’s not about the cost. It’s about votes and we all know it. Here is an msm article promoting protest https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...D=ansmsnnews11
“Build That Wall mr. Potus”.
Best line ever -- from Trump. Walls now keep out 95% -- new wall will keep out 99% -- lolololololol.
I know that in fairly recent history, President Reagan (who is especially admired by Conservatives) was telling Mr. Gorbachev to "tear down this wall!"
The wall between what was at the time East and West Berlin and East and West Germany erected under the directive of communist East Germany was also removed in the late 1980's.
Aside from the other practical problems with the simple minded "solution" of erecting such a wall*, separating the US from Mexico, does anyone else see erecting it also as a philosophical problem of being on the wrong side of history and moving backwards to a darker Cold War era?
*Does anyone seriously think the drug cartels and other hardcore criminal elements won't find a way to get around a wall, along with the other geographical constraints of this working?"
