New footage shows cowardly cop standing by during Florida high school shooting.

Must be the NRA's fault. Wonder how that spin will fly.

No worries, where the deputies failed, an armed teacher will get the job done.

And if armed teachers couldn't get it done. Armed students can....

Oh wait.

well, they are the ones who keep talking about the "good guy with a gun" as a rationale for slowing down the gun control movement

Who says they couldn't? You can wait for government to protect you if want that option. Only an unreasonable person would take options away.

Very sad. I wonder how many kids might've been saved had they engaged.

*puts on tinfoil hat*

They stood down because it was an active shooter drill that was announced in advance. They didn't know it was a real shooting until they were told later on.

There's no way that many officers just stood by knowing there was real shooting going on.

The answer is not to arm more people, it is to disarm those who should not have guns.

Where did you get your information from? From their radio conversation, they knew it was a real shooting.

Various students and teachers on the scene say they thought it was the drill. They were expecting there to be a shooting drill with sounds of gunshots and screams from crisis actors. They found out later on that it was a real shooting when somebody told them that.

This is most likely the case with local law enforcement as well. It's not that they were being cowardly, they were standing around because they thought it was the simulation.
