I don’t think all Muslims are bad, just their ideology. I think people are inherently good and compassionate by nature, with a few glaring exceptions. But the ideology that says women are worth half of a man and gay people should be jailed or killed needs to be dragged into the 21st century. I say that about fundamentalist Christians too, though they generally do not have millions of the most ardent supporters out there killing people.

The trouble with Islam is there is no central authority. Different sects can be wildly different. I know Muslims who are kind and compassionate, and even moderate. There are more of them than the extremists. The trouble is the extremists are the loudest and most dangerous, and there are far too many of them.

I don't think they're all bad either.
I do think they have a public perception/relations problem that is and was self created when they as a group refuse to loudly denounce terrorists and their actions and instead reply with nothing more than a few giving a tepid "they're not Muslims" response.

I think groups like CAIR and their radical actions do moderate Muslims a HUGE disservice as well...

At my 2nd job they fired a muslim for hiding coupons. This is cause for termination. She was. CAIR gave her a free lawyer to sue and even tho she was replaced by another muslim, she got like 10K out of it.

Doesn't surprise me; look sideways at a Muslim and CAIR is crawling out of the woodwork.

Muslims aren't the problem - it's the backward, screwed up culture of some of the countries in the middle east.

This man is a saint. Thanks for posting.

Name one Muslim country that is not culturally backwards. Just one that you would think is forward looking and gives rights and freedom to their citizens.

Probably Turkey.

Gave women the right to vote 30 years before Italy.

Same sex relations legal since founding in 1923.

Trans are allowed to legally change gender since 1988.

Abortion legal up to 10 weeks.

Pork and alcohol available nearly everywhere.

That Turkey allows, does not mean everyone agrees, no diff than in the USA or anywhere else.

I have a longtime muslim friend who immigrated from the former Yugoslavia decades ago as a child with her parents. she isn't muslim in any visible way like attending a mosque or following dietary or dress rules, but considers herself a muslim. she has told me over the years she knows she is very lucky to be in America. Knowing her, her family, and her profession, we are very lucky to have her in America, too.

Islam, like Judaism, like Christianity comprises many different denominations/ sects heavily influenced by local customs. Each has an element of extremism.

No such thing as all Muslims, Jews or Christians.
