I see videos like this and think that our jury system is completely screwed. Also, the NRA and people want MORE people walking around with guns when things like THIS happen? Everyone is going to start getting shot for every little thing. A parking lot argument where someone dinged a car with a shopping cart is going to end up with someone dead. A bump while walking on a sidewalk will be fatal. We have some seriously screwed up people who can't live without a gun when every other civilized country has been doing without it for decades.

Yet, despite more guns, the homicide rate has dropped dramatically in the last 25 years.

Yup. Guns and gun laws have zero impact on crime. Crime is a societal problem. It’s a people problem.

"...She told jurors she was afraid Williams was going to shoot Henderson and that he tried to grab her gun before fleeing out her third-floor office window at Signature Bail Bonds in Stillwater.."
I think the simplest explanation is this: making stupid/horrible decisions like committing a violent crime sometimes doesn't involved using common sense.

Man , your country is BEYOND warped!
As I tell people here who gripe about stuff- " be grateful you aren't in America"- then you'd REALLY have concerns"!!!
She wasn't a good gal with a gun. She was bail bonds officer and should have a gun although now clearly she shouldn't have been a bail officer. I think she committed murder. She was prosecuted and acquited. All of America isn't to blame for one jury decision. I'm sure not going to give up my gun rights because some idiots are irresponsible with theirs.

We're barely achieving civilized country status these days. Just listen to our President and his supporters on Fox News and see if any of it sounds civilized. Then consider we have 12,000 people a year die just like that guy in the video did, so that Festus in Jerkwater, U.S.A. can have his armory in his basement, because muzzle loaders were once needed when we defeated the British in the 18th century.

Cause……Murika.

Not asking anyone to give up chit. Just pointing out that turds like her, corrupt DA and Judges, and juries stacked with inbred Jeds are commonplace there, and these types of injustices and needless tragedies are the norm over there. How many more stories like this and Parkland are there as opposed of gun toting heroes saving the day.
Just the fact that so many Americans feel they have to be armed to the hilt 24/7 does NOT speak well if the so-called " greatest country" if it was so Damn great, why are there almost 16000 gun deaths per year? Great countries don't have those types of numbers. I'm quite certain if ANY other nation had those stats, you patriots would call that country a chithole!

So, does she get back the bail that she posted for him? I mean, she did deliver him to the authorities. Just not alive.

The video shows clear murder. She is so cool about it, makes me wonder whether it was the first time she'd done it. But I think the jury felt that they had no reason to punish this woman who had done society a favor. Perhaps it was because the charge was Murder I, rather than manslaughter. I think the prosecutors made a mistake. This woman didn't lure him there with the intent to murder. She lured him there with the intent to turn him in for having jumped bail, thus recovering her investment by returning him.

It looks more like involuntary manslaughter. He went behind the desk, toward the window. She knew there was a gun in the drawer there, and he was now close to that gun, and she was on the other side of the desk. She was probably worried that he would open the drawer and use the gun. But he didn't know it was there. His behavior seemed as if he were hopped up on something, like cocaine. In the moment, she went for her gun and shot him. But she didn't intend to kill him. I'm pretty sure that if she'd been charged with involuntary manslaughter, she'd have been convicted.

Our criminal justice system is so flawed. Even when there's obvious video evidence. Seems that a jury should have the choice of finding a person guilty of a lesser charge.

Because he'd jumped bail. He was caught redhanded burglarizing stores in town.
