I took out my initial investment, but still trading with some of the profits. The volatility is pretty exhilarating.

on one hand i dont think cryptocurrency is a fad, or "dumb" , anymore than putting your money into gold.


on the other hand i don't trust any of the individuals or companies involved enough to actually give them my dollars.

That's my take on it as well. A lot of these kids I work with are into this, and from what I'm seeing I wouldn't be comfortable sending a penny to any of these people.

as a technology concept, 'blockchain' is one of the most overhyped in history

cryptocurrency is the concept that matters (IMO), i.e. a currency that is not theoretically under anyone's control. blockchain provides the framework for that to exist, and that's great, but i don't see how blockchain is going to "revolutionize" other aspects of computing or communication.
