Why do you wonder? After 50 years of watching the Corporate Right's propaganda machine in full gear, why are you surprised that middle class conservatives are so easily duped? It's been VERY effective, and now you have a whole generation of people that are blindly following leaders and dogma that are self destructive. It's all about "feeling good" and "belonging", they have been taught to turn off their critical thinking skills.
