Possession of Cocaine can be felony charges.

Per USDOJ DEA
Between October 1, 2004 and January 11, 2005, there were 1,314 Federal offenders sentenced for powder cocaine-related charges and 1,205 sentenced for crack cocaine charges in U.S. Courts.

Between January 12, 2005 and September 30, 2005, there were 4,242 Federal offenders sentenced for powder cocaine-related charges and 4,077 sentenced for crack cocaine charges in U.S. Courts.

Most, but NOT ALL of these involved trafficking

Then, by your reasoning, GWB should be thrown out of the white house.

Well, that is a good idea.

How does something, that someone did 30 years ago affect me today? That doesn't even make sense.
Do you really prefer the cover ups? Why not just be upfront about it?

I'd say that a very large number of people tried something illegal when they were growing up. Why punish them for the rest of their lives?

Do you also want to punish kids who have sex before the age of consent? That's a broken law.
What about the 5 year old who walks out of the grocery with a pack of gum? Yep, s/he needs to be punished for the remainder of their lives.

You'll find me defending Bush's policies simply out of a matter of fact that almost most everything he has done, Democrats have either authorized or done preceeding him.

You will not find me defending any illegal activities. Bush has a record of alcohol abuse, and as of yet, I have seen no proof other then accusations of his involvement with cocaine. The book that accused Bush of doing cocaine (ISBN 1887128840) had been recalled by the publisher when they discovered that the publisher spent 5 years in jail for murder.

As of yet, there has been no substantiated claim of Bush and illegal substances.

Why is this more absurd than blaming people in the present for transgressions of 30 plus years ago.

That's the bigger absurdity.
