He was not suspended for not protesting, he was suspended for not being where he was supposed to be during the protest. Your "spin" and attempt at diversion didn't work. Your "source" cherry picked facts and spun them into a falsehood.
If the school called it a protest then he refused to be their pawn.

You do not get to be the one that defines a protest for others.
Another fake thread prompting fake outrage. He was NOT suspended for refusing to walk out in gun control protest. He had an alternate choice that he chose to reject - instead taking a third UNAUTHORIZED CHOICE of staying in a classroom alone. THAT is what he was suspended for.
It won't work, I tried. The OP's "source" cherry picked the actual facts and spun them into a falsehood.
No the student was told he could either leave the classroom and participate in the walk out or join the others opting out of the walk out in a specified study hall area.
He chose to defy the instructions.
This happens all the time in high school. Kids are not allowed to stay in classrooms unsupervised. The teacher in question may have been needed to supervise the study hall -- we don't know.
All we know -- the student defied authority.
He wasn't doing what was right.
He was doing what he wanted.
The TEACHER was the one that "defied instruction". He/she is paid to teach. If they chose not to do their job, they need to be replaced.
As far as the other students-again, what is the school's policy regarding truancy or ditching class?
Many of the students who walked out did so just because it's an excuse to skip class plus if someone doesn't stand with these walkers they WILL face retaliation. This has been proven over and over.
This is always true. These are KIDS! That's what kids do. We should treat them like kids.
I'm with you for the most part (better rethink your position ).
Why wasn't it "too bright" of the kid to sit in his seat though?
That's the point of being principled: not compromising, forcing the immoral rules (in your eyes) being put on you to be applied equally, and to cause great strain to your enemy.
And brass can nail him for it as you said. That's what authoritarians do.
Even students of this age should know you cannot protest every little thing with which you disagree. Wait for something meaningful - something that really matters. This isn't it.
If you have a legitimate issue you're willing to take a stand for, whether they say it or not, teachers will respect you. This kind of thing? He was arguing about where he planted his behind and nothing more. No good reason for it, no legitimate cause. He just painted himself as a problem. That's not too bright, in my opinion.

The Left want them installed as our omnipotent leaders.
