Conaway walks back comment after saying House Intel didn't probe collusion | TheHill

From the article
Quote:
Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) said Sunday the House Intelligence Committee was not tasked with investigating collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, despite the committee issuing a report last week stating it found no evidence of collusion in the 2016 election.

"Our committee was not charged with answering the collusion idea," Conaway said on NBC's "Meet The Press."

Just to be clear: Technically the House Intelligence Committee hasn't found or issued anything yet.

Only the Republicans on the Committee have issued a report.

The House Intelligence Committee FINAL report, which is supposed to be bi-partisan, hasn't been issued yet.

There was also the fact that everyone knew Nunes raced straight to Trump with anything anybody said.

So of course, few people were willing to talk to the House committee.

Nunes should have been out of there like a rocket shot after his first telling antics as Trump's toady. Still should be (but this is the Trump administration). After saying he was going to step back from the Russia investigation and then didn't, he pulled the political version of "I had my fingers crossed behind my back". And he continued to have a constant hand in the Russia pie including retaining the Intel Committee Chairmanship. Another travesty of toxic Trump dysfunction. Travesties and absence of ethics are hallmarks of anything Trump related.

Nunes needs to go back to milking cows in Tulare. But he'll probably move on to selling wine to Russian oligarchs.

To be fair, Ryan was the one who should have pulled the pin on Nunes.

After that middle of the night nonsense, Ryan should have pulled him from the committee altogether.
