What's interesting is that Obama and Clinton tried to start a trade war in the past against China but they didn't want to upset businesses. Obama understand China's trade imbalances but he lacked the conviction to pull the trigger. Clinton just want to be paid by the Chinese to solve any trade disputes. She was very critical of China as Secretary but she never recommended any action because the checks in the mail to her at the time.
