Have any of you seen your responses? Terrible. Would you speak like this to a relative if this happened to their kids?
How do you think the parents feel now. How is the neighborhood likely to also be a part of the culture of violence? So many things influence a kid nowadays. At 9, very few really understand death, and the consequences.
Take your kid fishing, then hunting. Teach them the value of life, and it will be a life-long lesson.
So many quick to blame, without knowing the details.

I honestly have no sympathy for the parents. The parents should have made certain their children could not get their hands on a firearm!

Hopefully they feel like crap and are taking 100 percent of the responsibility, and hopefully the police charge them for negligent homicide, and endangerment of a child resulting in death.
9 yr old needs a lot of counseling.

The article does not say what game they were playing but here is a more serious question. What was wrong with the parents that did not teach their kid right from wrong and worse is how could the 9 year old get his hands on gun? The gun should have been locked up.

I remember when I was a kid my dad had a few guns and I knew that if I went looking for them I would have gotten a beaten. I think many kids used to have a fear like that which would prevent them from doing something crazy like this.

This sad incident was entirely preventable if
#1 the parents had taught the kid to respect life and unlike video games and what they see on TV when you shoot someone in real life they die forever. There are no do overs or restarts.
#2 The parents had taught the kid to stay away from and respect guns.
#3 the gun was locked up in a place where the kid could not get to it.

This is a very sad and entirely preventable shooting.
Oh? Can you give us specific examples of "the Left" saying that?

BTW, it WAS NOT the video game controller the boy shot his sister with. Whatever irresponsible gun owner that let a 9 year old get hold of a gun is a hell of a lot more responsible than anyone/anything else.

I blame the parents for being careless enough to leave a 9 year old with access to a gun.
