Where does one find a private sector job where you're paid to snooze on the clock?

This guy could be unemployable if not for the State.
Who is going to abolish 100,000 public schools in the US.?

What becomes of the 51 million students enrolled in public schools?

Don't forget about their precious public sector union that protects them from virtually any misdeed.

They will have more options:

1.) Free-market private schools. Competition provides better service, more cheaply and efficiently.

2.) Deregulate home-schooling. Home-schooled kids test better than government-schooled kids.

3.) Charity schools. Those unable to afford private schools or homeschooling can depend on benevolent charities. It was commonplace in this country back in the day:

Understandably everyone's probably a little jittery around that school right now and a deputy sleeping in his duty vehicle is certainly nothing new and happening all over America every day of the week BUT that brother needs a serious azzwhupping or, if some mental evaluation determines the kid is suffering from an undiagnosed mental illness.....as is indicated by his brother's unexplained behaviour, they can determine what's behind it.

I seriously hope they find out whether it's something that can be dealt with and prevent it happening elsewhere.

This happens at all schools. MY brother goes to a high school in the South Katy Area, pretty wealthy school but has over 3,000 students enrolled. That is the population of a small town, crimes are bound to happen even at affluent schools, especially drug use and alcohol abuse. He even heard of a kid who was Asian and a Drug Dealer (Wealthy/Asian and Drug Dealer is a rarity), 3,000 kids and 0.71% of the population is currently in jail, that means at a school of 3,000 somehwere between 0 and two dozen kids will end up arrested at some time and that doesn't include people released from jail which would increase the population a lot. While this is still high for a suburban school, with Parkland's size even a school like that will see a few major fights every year as well as petty crime.

Parkland embodies the failure of public education, and the incredible arrogance of the public employee unions leeching from it. but extraction of a workable alternative from this "train wreck" seems increasingly unlikely.

Ideally, all education should be privatized, with a provision for vouchers for those unable to pay, and if we can devise a system which allows a clear choice between at least two alternatives to every pupil, then we can't allow a "faux choice" between "alternatives" of near-identical ideological orientation, be they religious/authoritarian or secular/progressive.

We need to carefully formulate a set of ground rules, because without them, public schools will continue to deteriorate into a worthless, and over-politicized battleground.

We're completely ignoring the fact that these kids were involved in a life altering, disturbing event in the last month.
Was stuff like this happening before the shooting?

People react to events like this in many different ways, the fact that some kids are acting up is unfortunately quite normal considering the circumstances.
