I've copied and modified an online poll from:

https://tytnetwork.com/accountability/

I think Trump will fire Mueller, and despite some strong words, Congress (dominated by Republicans) won't vote to impeach.

I need to add - this is PUBLIC POLL! I'm new at this polling thing. I thought a comment would be added automatically when I selected "public", but I don't see a comment in the poll.

I don't know if he would have the guts because he would have to fire Rosenstein first. I don't see Rosenstein firing Mueller.

I agree here.

Though my second choice in this poll would be if Trump did fire Mueller....I do think impeachment would happen. I think the outcry would be too great for the GOP to ignore (and more and more of them are getting more vocal towards their dislike of Trump--who knows how many more dislike him and just aren't saying anything publicly?) Trump hasn't exactly been making friends there.....

When our constitution was written there was some discussion about this obviously. And the thing that struck me when I read it, is that impeachment was viewed as a gift to the president. Because when the head of your country misbehaves, if you cannot remove them via some process, it usually ended up having someone remove them in a violent fashion. Thus impeachment was viewed as being better for them then the alternative.

If he tries to remove Mueller, people will go absolutely ballistic.

To add further context to this poll, it was inspired by:

I know, a left leaning website. If you're impatient, skip to 10:40 in the vid, where a Republican consultant weights in (yes, on MSNBC, a left leaning TV network).

Graham said that Trump should be impeached if he tries to fire Mueller.

Trey Gowdy, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, and Jeff flake have all taken public stands against Trump.

What has gotten into Republicans? Has somebody been putting spine-strengthener in the Congressional water supply?

What next? Paul Ryan pulls that ridiculous Nunes off the House Intel committee and tells them to get back to work?

Republicans are choosing to retire, and do the right thing. Sounds like Republicans are being told by the GOP that if they dont toe the line, they wont get funding.

The 20 point margin changes in voting results might be freaking some of them out too.

And the Tariffs are freaking out the money people. The new ones on China will REALLY freak folks out if Trump imposes them. Oddly enough I might even support those-despite the mutual economic harm they will cause.

I can't say I've really considered it this way, but there's a good point to this. It's a 'safety valve' for all concerned--a bad leader gets removed without losing his life over it if there's enough evidence to have him leave his post early, and the country doesn't have to go through the 'what ifs' of violent overthrows whenever a president is really off the rails.
