Any honest and open discussion about a topic, any topic, should be able to have more than one point of view expressed. That does not always seem to be the case.

Thus, I suspect some folks are staying away from this thread. I suspect the OP knows full and well that any study of Gun Violence (no quotation marks) would be fought tooth and nail by the NRA and the GOP and probably won't happen for years.

Yet the gun lobby has prevented the CDC from studying gun violence, been ongoing for decades.
They don't want a discussion on gun violence, just a few anecdotes to make their case.

If you eliminate the military from that equation, based on what's in the news, the lives saved will be fairly few.
And I suspect that when lives are saved - it's mostly because the criminals had guns in the first place.
