Without the agricultural subsidies, would growing wheat, corn, soybeans, and rice even be economically viable in red states?

No I don't because my ideology extends beyond lining my own pocket. I recognize that to do business it is better for me to have poor people who aren't starving and who can read.

From what I've read, the great majority of subsidies go to agri-businesses rather than our neighbors, the small farmers.

The vast majority of “Welfare” spending is for the elderly.
