All a ban does is make it more difficult for the law abiding to purchase them. It does nothing for the existing and nothing from people getting them in other ways than local stores.
So a ban does have an impact. Okay -- I was just clarifying.

Thanks.

Impact to criminals = 0 Impact to law abiding = annoyance

This is not what we should be paying govt officials to do.

Apparently some of you are ok with playing this dumb game.

Yeah the inner city of LA, Detroit, Seattle's homeless camps, SF's junkie roads, Chiraq, and East St Louis are so civilized.

Bans have an impact, but no real EFFECT. Criminals will get anything they want as by definition do NOT FOLLOW bans, or laws. Just to clarify.

Thanks.

I'm a firm believer in automatic weapons being a big waste of ammo. If you practice your aim, you don't need an automatic weapon.. you could have a 9MM and put each shot into a different person with enough practice, so I don't particularly care about this ban. Blowing through a bunch of rounds in 5 seconds might seem cool but it's really just a waste of money for civilians.

I wonder how long until youtube bans instructional videos:

This is what happens when you let Californians into your city.

They ruined California with their draconian laws and taxes and now they're doing the same thing in other places.

Well, we can still buy "assault weapons" and use our high cap mags here. So their end game is failing miserably on gun control. It's just really annoying.

Maybe the posters in this thread need to let the lobbyists know not to bother fighting bans.

Because one ban leads to another....

And when they figure out that the bans aren't having the desired effect, then they will decide that more serious measures are necessary to infringe on what is supposed to be off limits.

Every limitation allowed on the 2nd amendment takes another bite out of the elephant.

For the same reason you would get hot and bothered if cars were banned but nobody is turning them in.
