Denver also has a ban on so-called "assault rifles", B.F.D. Denver has a bad habit of passing "feel good" measures that are totally unenforceable.

I've stated before, the bans do nothing. At best they are used as secondary charges and are rare. These local laws are as useless as the federal ones. The 94 AW ban was a farce.

Agree. It's just grandstanding by local politicians, or in the case of '94 cowardice on the part of the feds.

Hickenlooper did that when I lived in the Denver burbs. Fortunately, I didn't live in the city. The feel good "high cap" magazine ban is UNENFORCABLE, even the Sheriffs admit that. However, Magpul moved their HQ because of it. NY carpetbagger, Evie Hudak got recalled over it.

Outside of the Front Range, and a few other pockets, Colorado is still America.

Well, keep in mind, banning/ creating laws against, etc are the ONLY measures they can think of, whether its drugs, guns, etc. Its pathetic they have not realized this NEVER works!

If bans are 'useless' why does the NRA get all hot and bothered over it?

Maybe the posters in this thread need to let the lobbyists know not to bother fighting bans.

Yep, same with their prohibition on private transfers - unenforceable. They did have the good sense to finally overturn the (also unenforceable) ban on automatic knives recently though it may still be in place in Denver. I stay far away from that cesspool unless absolutely necessary.
