I bet this was the work of the local authorities trying to thwart them from dropping a dime on them. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. We now live in a world where you are guilty until proven innocent. Not a shred of evidence yet that this was the work of the Russians but here we are blaming them. Both the UK and the US are very capable of doing these things as well and both have done it many times in the past.

I think most countries took the opportunity to get rid of a few known Russian spies, and the US even managed to get rid of the Seattle Consulate which was being used by Russia to spy on a nearby US Submarine base as well as on US companies such as Boeing.

Russia has overstepped the mark too many times over the last decade, and the Putin regime is now becoming increasingly isolated from the civilised world.

About damn time.

Bloomberg editorial calls for Magnitsky Act sanctions as well as expulsions.

Interesting list of countries that at this point have not expelled Russian spies over Putin's nerve gas attack in the UK:

Portugal, Malta, Switzerland, Greece, Slovakia, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus (of Russian money-laundering fame), and Mrs. Trump's homeland, Slovenia.

Well, now.

Turns out that we just exchanged the old Russian spies for new ones.
