What is the difference in an semi auto AR and the semi auto she was wielding?
The Glock has 33 round mags. Easier to conceal, too.
Much harder to conceal an AR.
Great lady and hopefully there won’t be a next time as aside from one of them being dead, I hope the others will do some decent time and live with being haunted by what a great woman did to protect herself.
Ah yes, the good guy with a gun defense. A powerful and seductive idea....
It's also completely wrong, according to nearly 40 years' worth of crime data.
For every time a gun is used in self-defense, there are more accidents, suicides, injuries, etc. In reality, you’re far more likely to die at the hands of your own gun than you are to protect your family by shooting somebody else.
That's because you're only counting defensive gun uses where the criminal died. According to the CDC, there are at least 500 million cases every year of people defending themselves with firearms.
Why do you keep harping on this "need" argument? Yes, she did. It provides better accuracy, and can hold more cartridges typically depending on magazine used. What if she misses? Isn't I better to have a few extra rounds in case of misses, AND multiple attackers? Also criminals, often hopped up on drugs can take multiple pistol rounds, and still kill you. They've even taken multiple rifle rounds and can still kill you. I am not talking two, or three. I am talking ten our more.

Depends on the round. If it's simple FMJ - yes. If it's HP - less.
