When I first read the title, thought it referred to Republicans figuratively blowing themselves up.

Theres a reason the GOP is hesitant to do this, they know eventually the shoe is on the other foot.

As if Dems won't do it regardless.....

Oh I dunno.

Rs like it because it gives them a bit more power when they're in the majority.

I suspect the Ds will like it when they're in the majority too.

The republicans are pure straight up cowards when it come to immigration and America First policies and any of the issues that won trump the presidency
AH the usual hypocrisy.

ole harry reid changed the rules WHEN EVER he wanted to in order to get his and the dems way.

You have only yourselves and your president* to blame. Let’s take 630 key jobs, all of them filled by presidential nomination and tracked by the Partnership for Public Service. Of those 630 top jobs, about 240 of them right now have no nominee and we are more than a year into tRump's presidency.

From PBS:

And there is a long list of other vacancies, top spots at the Pentagon and at the State Department, at the Agriculture Department, the offices overseeing national food safety. And at the Energy Department, several key nuclear oversight jobs are unfilled. That’s just to name a few.

So who’s running things? A change in federal law that went into effect just last year allows a temporary acting replacement in these jobs, but only for 300 days. That’s to give presidents time to make nominations.

But Mr. Trump hasn’t made nominations for hundreds of these jobs, and the 300-day clock has run out. That’s creating an unprecedented situation. Those acting in these jobs do not technically have the legal authority to do them anymore.

On average it took Congress 61 days to confirm a presidential nominee during the Obama presidency. Now under tRump, it takes a republican Congress 63 days to confirm a nominee.

So just what is the GOP going to "go Nuclear" over? Are they getting ready to impeach tRump for his failure to fill literally hundreds of vital positions in government? Somehow I doubt it.

~ We now return you to Fox and Friends where fantasy trumps fact every time. ~
Not disagreeing with your post but, it has NOTHING to do with THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN NOMINATED.

They can reverse confirmations of ambassadors and judges? News to me.

Of course the GOP is reluctant, just like you said, but the Dems are not bright for delaying good appointments and then mocking the GOP for not getting things done. People are really not that stupid. They know what is going on.

You may not have noticed that while the 'generic D vs R' vote is still tilted in favor of D, the spread is narrowing. See comments above if there is any question why:

"that while the 'generic D vs R' vote is still tilted in favor of D,"

Who has the MOST governors?

Who controls MOST of the state legislatures?

Who has the majority in the U.S.House of Representatives?

Who has the majority in the U.S. Senate?

Who has the White House?

Who did most of the polls predict would win the the last presidential election.

Keep believing in your "polls".

"You can FOOL SOME of he people ALL of the time"

I just check 1 of your "polls'

PARTY IDENTIFICATION QUESTION WORDING

Gee, they polled MORE dems then repubs by 5% and Inds by 8%,

What kind of "results' WOULD you expect?

The other side of that coin? Some of Trumps appointments have been....exceptionally bad, and that number may be appropriate for the level of appointments.

So...it would put a end to the abuse of it, but I assure you Republicans will massively regret it.

LOL. When they take the reigns of the government they will re-appoint all the ambassadors. Judges will be more challenging, but they can certainly do something fun like....change the supreme court to be 11 justices. Oddly the number of supreme court judges is set by them. Then put in 2 brand new young far left judges

Really? Where were those people when the Republicans did it?

all of those polls were before this latest omnibus bill, and the tariffs. LOL. wait for a day or two.
" Some of Trumps appointments have been....exceptionally bad,"

THAT is YOUR opinion of them.

YOU do NOT get to vote on them.

If the dems think they are so bad, why NOT bring them up for a voted IMMEDIATELY.

Other then stalling what purpose does it serve?

And is it your "opinion" that NONE of the dems run a business and DON'T do what you accuse the repubs of?

If so, you are VERY NAIVE.

Shrug. You are VERY NAIVE if you think that it is mainly Ds and their contributors who have this conflict. And right now, Rs have the majority.

Dems are powerless and irrelevant. Pubs keep on telling everyone. Haven't been this far out of power for 90 years.

Pubs own DC; WH, both houses of congress and the supreme court. I won't even mention that most states are now solidly red. tRump has gotten a record number of federal judges appointed, all conservos.

So, relax.

Take a deep breath.

Please.
