This is how I see it playing out.

North Korea keeps their nukes, and keeps making more in secret. They deny any accusations, and work on a "peaceful" satellite launch system. They do stop detonating nukes though-after all, they know they work now.

If Trump calls them out, they just say "fake news". If Trump gets aggressive then China steps in to defend the poor defenseless North Korea. They have the supply line advantage, and use it. Theyve picked the place of combat. And its not over their property, or property where we have a advantage. China threatens any country that provides basing to us.

And...we are the aggressor in this. Boltons appointment makes this all work for China, and NK.

Wonder if Trump/Bolton threatening to bomb the crap out of N. Korea falls into that same category.

Prefer not to find out.

Trump is not a politician, so he's not going to follow the same patterns as past leaders.
He already is nothing like any President in history.

Discuss. I'm sure Mr. President will "trust, but verify" but this seems very positive
And what does Kim want in return?

Kim isn't doing this out of the kindness in his heart.

Kim expects to get something in return, so what does he want?

I wouldn't trust Un as far as I could toss him, and he is a tubby little SOB. Leopards do not change their spots, especially that fast.

Um, we already found out. They did threaten and it was indeed political fodder for idiots.
