One big issue we have in our government is very out of touch old people that have no clue what they are doing, not understanding and up to date with new tech, new social arenas etc. What if much like the presidency, every politician could only ever have a max of two terms?

May we safely assume that you also advocate setting an upper age limit beyond which a person cannot run for office, to keep "out of touch old people" from being elected at all?

If we are going to age discriminate why not open up other categories and discriminate on a larger scale ?

We need to discriminate based on people's views that are different than our own.
Oh......wait.... we do that now.
We should take it a step farther and put term limits on conservatives.
How will we recognize them ?
Pick the ones that don't bark at the moon or scream at the sky.

I don't want to take away the rights of citizens to vote for whoever they want. Term limits on executive positions are fine, but unnecessarily restrictive for legislatures - we get the Congress we vote for. Don't like it, work harder to get new people elected, but abide by the constitution.

Besides, term limits on Congress would only increase the avenues for graft and corruption, and potentially make legislatures less responsive to constituents.

I'd like to see term limits, not because of age, but because of the chronic, CAREER politicians we create in both parties. All they care about is growing government, and increasing their own wealth, and power.

It's just a hunch, but I suspect the OP's definition of "old" lies a few years to the south of 80 or 90.

I dont see term limits ending taxes, wars, cronyism, nanny statism, etc., so whats the point? Presidents have term limits and yet each one is worse than the last.
Strip the power hungry of their power so we can go about living our lives

I'm personally not hugely in favor of term limits (not hugely opposed either) as I don't see it as a way to ensure that politicians are not 'out of touch.' A more active citizenry would be able to better manage this than term limits; term limits might work, but I suspect what would end up happening is that you'd be stuck with an out of touch politicians for a few terms, rather than dozens of terms.

Addressing the problem of lobbying would be the best path forward. When politicians who are supposed to serve a district or state are beholden to national and international organizations and corporations, there's a much higher likelihood of a conflict of interests arising. I'm also in favor of increasing the size of congress to allow representatives smaller districts, allowing them to better interact with the people they actually represent.
