China is not a rookie at space tech. I remember the Mir station and the Space lab all came down when they lifespan was up. This Tiangong performed perfectly and in fact lasted longer than its projected life. The Chinese want it to come down and they know it wont harm anyone.
Of course you all can open your trap and complain without any real knowledge of the situation like a bunch of morons.
Not entirely true, China lost communication and control of the station in 2016. It’s original mission was from 2011-2013. The mission was successful and extended, but China had planned on eventually thrusting the station into the atmosphere speeding up its orbital decay, since they lost contact they were unable to do so and let gravity take over.
With more and more rookies getting into the rocket and satellite game, more and more often this will happen. What ever happened to President Raygun's space laser we were building?
The vast majority of it is going to burn up in the atmosphere and what little remains (if anything at all remains) has a 70% chance of hitting an ocean. Of the remaining 30%, the chances of it impacting on or near a human being are so tiny, I wouldn't even blink an eye at it (something like 1:1,000,000,000,000).
Space debris falls all the time. In fact, just about every satellite we put into near-Earth orbit will fall back down to Earth someday due to orbital decay and/or atmospheric drag. It's happened before and it's even happening to the International Space Station as we speak.
SkyLab; built by the United States; put into orbit in 1973; fell back to Earth in 1979
Mir; built by the Soviet Union; put into orbit in 1986; fell back to Earth in 2001

Would have been nice for them to have arranged for a controlled deorbit.
