This could become possible. If Trump ends welfare and requires everyone able to work 8 hours a day to receive assistance they might flee rather than work an honest day.
Canada, like most developed nations, strictly enforces their borders, and enforces their immigration law which is also very strict, and limiting.
Canada is quite liberal compared to the US, and yet they protect their borders. Canadian politicians are also not dependent on illegal invaders and refugees to sway their elections leftward.
They’re refugees when they crossed the border into Mexico. Once they cross into the second country, they are economic migrants.

Nope. The way it works is they are in when they request asylum. The issue is the state of affairs in their home country not in Mexico. And they are not returnable to Mexico once in the US.
And they are not demanding. They are simply following the US protocol.
And the border between the US and Canada has virtually no control. Wide open. There are thousands of miles where you can cross by foot boat or car.
I’m sure the usual suspects here are getting ready to scream racism and xenophobia if Trump actually tries to protect our citizens from unchecked illegal migration.
What would these same folks say if Canada deployed their military to stop our poor from coming in?
What they have been doing with those fleeing to Canada.
They would take them into custody and process them.

I have no problem with Trump preparing to deny entry to these 800 folks (apparently the group is 1200 but only 2/3 plan to try to get in.).
I suspect as this group has been very public about their journey and has used it as a platform to identify a need for assylum for folks from Honduras, that they aren't looking to sneak in.
Not sure that's how you would sneak into a country.

That is so true. If they wanted to escape terrible times in their own country one would think that they wouldn't go too far so when the problems are over they can go back home.
They don't plan to stay in Mexico because Mexico won't take care of them the way the US will.
What can we expect though? Obama had the welcome mat out, it was taken in when Trump took over but there are cities that still promise sanctuary to anyone that can get there. Those kind hearted Liberals are actually encouraging people to risk their lives by crossing dangerous desert areas where if the elements don't get you the human predators will.
Has anyone asked the Canadian immigration office what they would do? If the group that is supporting the 1100 person caravan really cares about them they would meet them at the border with chartered buses and drive them non stop to Canada. Better yet would be to charter an airplane and fly them from Mexico to Canada.
We all know that if this caravan gets into America they will disappear.
