Hamas does not recognize Israel. Thus they consider this as constructive as they are calling the other side of the border Gaza Strip settlements.
The leaders claim to consider the demarcation fence not a border. They very bravely put their children up to fight over that. Hamas says Gaza fence 'is not a border'
I look at this from a great distance, but put myself in the Jewish shoes. Surrounded by enemies, some of whom talk of pushing the Jews into the sea. It is a matter of survival to them. If the Arabs had the military might of Israel, how would they use it against the Jews?
The Arabs did so in 1948 when Israel was established. They sent Arab armies from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt. Saudi Arabia sent a formation that fought under the Egyptian command. Each time they tried to wipe Israel off the map they weren't able to.

Gaza is trying to put the civilized world into an impossible bind; either let 2,000,000 people die from lack of sanitation and food (the leaders being tucked away safely in Qatar), or dissolve the Israeli border and Israel itself.
