The last 6 under control of the GOP Gov. I grew up in NYC when it failed under GOP Mayor Lindsey. It took a while for it to come back.

I searched for your post asking "where the hell is Obama" but couldn't find any. You surely have a link somewhere.

I agree, Snyder has failed his state with only token corporate investment (that doesn’t help in the long run) to brag about.

the topic is Detroit, your deflection attempt is weak.

Maybe not changed OVERNIGHT, but how about a start ? Trump has done zero with respect to helping places like Detroit get back on their feet, all he does is criticize. Hell, I can criticize, a President should be working toward finding ways to fix some of our urban decay.

The bottom line is, he is so focused on everything else but doing what is right for American cities that he pays them no attention whatsoever. If he were going to be a good, effective President, he could have done something toward this in the last 15 months. He would not only have had the support of his side, but the Democrats would have been more than happy to talk about it too.

But he just doesn't have it in him.

Arguments like this only work if you have a "where is Trump" post of your own to show you aren't just as biased.

Actually, the topic is policies that the OP claimed caused Detroit to fail, but he never actually named what those were.

San Jose, California has been controlled by Democrats as far back as the 1950s. San Jose is in good shape. It doesn't have sky high crime. Very low murder rate. It's a hub in Silicon Valley. San Jose has about 1 million people, up from 95,000 in 1950.

Seattle,Washington, ran exclusively by Democrats since 1969. It's noted has having one of the fastest growing populations in the USA. Seattle has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation. Large tech industry in the city. Low crime rate, and an especially low murder rate.

Denver, Colorado, another city ran by Democrats for decades. Alot of people want to move to Denver. Denver's population is now larger than Detroit's population. Major telecommunications hub in the USA. Alot of energy companies have a big presence in the Denver area. Low murder rate too. And it isn't decaying.

Detroit is in bad shape. The cities I listed, Seattle, San Jose, Denver, are not in bad shape at all.

while we are cherry picking cities, lets cherry pick some more rust belt cities to be fair.

cost of living is the huge issue in San Jose and Seattle, like much of the liberal west coast and NE.
pick your poison.
