I am talking 20, 50, 100 years from now. Do you see as Hillary stated the future being female? Where women hold most, if not the good majority of political offices? And if so, how different do you view things being? One good thing is with women being inherently loving and nurturing women will be far more interested in things like peace, justice, ethics and morals. Not going to war for greed and all the bad things men have. Men when dealt with conflict just want to fight, whereas women for the most part are all about just talking things out and coming to a peaceful resolution.
And there will no longer be a need for the likes of the CIA and the use of spies and sabotage to get what they want.
Women are not as interested as men in going into politics
But just like in fields such as STEM women are actively discouraged from pursuing such fields. It's only been very recently women have broken the glass ceiling and made gains in politics.
I think another good thing is positions in politics will be based off of merit, not cronyism, not who is your BFF, not who can best play favorites.
Well, you are painting a very rosy picture. In 20 years, I think our politicians will be more and more an integrated group of men and women, all races, many religions, etc. At last, I think that our pluralistic society will begin to be reflected in its representatives. In 50 and 100 years, will women hold most political offices? Perhaps a majority, but I don't think men are destined for the dust heap of politics. And I am less convinced than you that women will not engage in greed and the lust for power. I do believe that women are less confrontational, more likely to be pursue peace, reasonable discussion and compromise. But women are human, too, and subject to human foibles. I want women to lead if they are intelligent, far sighted, open minded, have good negotiating skills, etc. But women are no more "perfect" than men. Let us not forget that men at one time were held up as providing the perfect package of traits for leadership, and women were assumed to be ill-fitted. That turned out - not so well. If we then reverse that and hold up woman as being the new "perfect" ones, with men being the ones who are ill-fitted, we will be disappointed there, as well. The pendulum always swings, and at one time we eliminated the talents of half of our country, missing countless opportunities for inspired leadership by women. Lets not make the same mistake by counting out the other half of the country. Who knows who are the next great leaders? Let us throw the doors open for all kinds of people who show that kind of talent.
Park Geun-hye, South Korea's first female president, was sentenced to 24 years in prison after being found guilty of crimes that exposed deep links between politics and the nation's corporate giants. A panel of three judges at the Seoul Central District Court found the former leader guilty.
