Black conservative shouted down for speaking ‘against own people’

Former NFL star and conservative commentator Burgess Owens was heckled and shouted down by students for allegedly speaking “against” his “own people” at a lecture last month.

...
While he was able to deliver his prepared remarks without incident, the audience repeatedly interrupted and insulted Owens during the question-and-answer portion of the talk, so much so that the moderator eventually had to shut it down.

You can disagree with people... the disrespect is unnecessary.

In the video - you can see the difference in the mindset between the prior two generations.

He was lucky to be in the NFL... we are second class citizens... you can hear the hopelessness in what they yell out. This is what they have been taught.

He is trying to teach them how to succeed, and many of them weren't having it.

I watched the beginning of part 4, and Owens was speaking about how he was pleased to be the man to take care of his family, and that he passed it down to his boys to take care of his kids... and someone yelled out that he was sexist.

Many students did come up and get autographs afterwards... and afterwards, Owens took the time to deal one on one with one of the students who had an issue, and he spells out the truth.
