I am neither for nor against sex work whether you talk dancers/strippers, prostitutes or Playboy centerfold or pornographic actors. I do watch pork every once in a while, but I am not entirely for it because some of it stands on the fine line of real and fake (is the "fake" casting calls) to the point of being exploitative.
Girls pimping themselves out doesn't prevent being raped, taken advantage of or even killed but it can mitigate these threats. It also removes the predatory pump/pimptress aspect of street walking. Many women use this for supplemental income, extra income, etc and not just a dead end, though that is common in sex work. Not all are the broken individual going into sex work meme that say a Mary Carey, Linda Lovelace, Jenna Jameson or even Katie Morgan would lead you to believe all sex workers are.
I am against the law that was passed due to the unintended consequences of the law. Craigslist was somewhat common for these sex worker ads though it was painfully obvious to weed through them. Any that asked for roses, were prostitution ads. HowEver, what this did was end the personal ads on the website. I would use them when I was single due to my location and work schedules not being conducive to traditional in person dating (as well as my needing to know someone before asking them out). I was adversely effected as Craigslist shut down all the personal forums except missed connections which was merely moved elsewhere on the site. I don't like that Craigslist had to do this, but they HAD to, otherwise they would be shutdown like Backpage was.
I am also against the law because it will not stop sex trafficking and pimping illegal immigrants brought on by wolves. It merely forces them to look to street walking or using other means and coded messages. As I said already, roses was one. Roses mean dollars and some ads I've come across would state exactly how many roses an encounter would cost. Craigslist has also had issues with this for drug trades too due to coded messages. Then they can also use social media (Facebook has common issues with this from time to time). Simply put, the law realy does nothing, even to stop sex trafficking. It is a waste of legislation.
