My husband and I are liberal and we didn't celebrate. My friends and facebook acquaintances are liberal and I didn't see, hear or read of anyone celebrating. Persecution complex, maybe? Perhaps projecting onto others what you would do if tables were reversed? This is a common knee-jerk reaction of your leader, putting his shortcomings on his foes.

Which one is the more outrageous?
nothing prevents the apartment owner or homeowners from having them installed themselves. Not hard to do.

So I can safely say the conservatives don't give a sh** about people dying, right? Makes as much sense as the thread title.

Trump lobbied against having to retrofit high-rises with sprinkler systems. And instead of tweeting any kind of sympathy for the deceased or his family, POTUS said his building was well-built. What a guy.

I guess the $4.00 per square foot it would have cost to retrofit sprinklers would have broken Trump.

So, please take your fake "outrage" and feed it to the birds.

I'm sorry to see that the tenant was killed in the fire. Horrible way to go. And, a bit off topic, but does anyone besides me think that the Trump Tower is a hideous piece of crap? I can't imagine living in a building like that.

This is a terrible tragedy. We strolled from midtown to the Frick and passed by the Trump Tower a few hours before the fire started. To think there are no sprinklers on that floor...just tragic.

We were trying to decide if we hated the architecture or the name made the architecture worse. In the end, it was a little bit of both. It’s not as hideous as the 666 building Kushner invested in, but still pretty yuck. The pencil towers are more elegant, like 432 Park Ave.

So, tRump cheaped out on his tower and got away with NOT installing a sprinkler system?

And a guy dies as a result.

Trumplings react by blaming libs.

So amusing.

Even if the sprinkler systems were not required thanks to RE developers like Trump. A fireman interviewed said sprinklers would not stop the fire, but they would make it a whole lot less intense and easier to fight.

I'm pretty sure fire alarms are mandated--why didn't people in the building during a 4-alarm fire even know about it?

There is seriously no alarm or intercom system to alert the residents that the building is on fire? Something is off here.

I think he meant he could let them burn to death and his side would still defend him and blame " Liberals".
