Most people don't read enough about the period between the World Wars....even that before Hitler became chancellor. There is a great book about it and this type of history should clarify perfect who was "right" and who was "left".

After their slaughter in WWI, the German people were not too happy about their government (The Kaiser).

To put it in simple terms, Germany turned "democratic" almost immediately with women given the right to vote and the voting age lowered and more democratic institutions.

However, the entire population - especially the "leftovers" of the military, was heavily armed due to the surplus from WWI.

The so-called Weimar Republic was basically moderate (although, as now, Germans had a dozen or more political parties)....note the following quote:

"In this time, the radical left-wing parties, including the USPD and KPD, were barely able to get themselves organised, leading to a solid majority of seats for the MSPD moderate forces"

Ok, so we can see that Germany, in a political sense, was on the way to freedom. Voter turnout was great.

When economic and social strife occurred as a result of the privations of the war, infighting started. This is the chapter that most Americans never study.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freikorps

"In the aftermath of World War I and during the German Revolution of 1918–19, Freikorps consisting largely of World War I veterans were raised as right-wing paramilitary militias, ostensibly to fight on behalf of the government"
"The Freikorps were widely seen as a precursor to Nazism, and many of their volunteers ended up joining the Nazi militia, the Sturmabteilung (SA)"

Too long to detail in this post, but these trained WWI Soldiers put down unions, working people's movements and any other forms of government (other than right wing) with mass murder using weapons of war. That was a complete victory for the Right Wing Forces which eventually then backed Hitler.

The Last Straw was the Enabling Act, where Hitler declared he could create law by decree.

As anyone can see, there is no LEFT WING involved except as dead bodies at the end of machine guns used by the Freikorps...and this was long before WWII was even considered.

Later, Hitler rounded up anyone who was even lightly associated with "power to the people" and that type of stuff....and sent them off to concentration camps.

Anyway, point is - none of this stuff "just happens". There is a runup to it over decades.

There was never a shortage of "arms" among the citizenry. Even the "dead lefties" had plenty, but they weren't much good against trained paramilitary forces marching in formation with even more guns and skills.

Assault weapons have been illegally banned in the U.S. since 1986.

Doing so to give you a little cover, you can't pretend you don't remember protesters being attacked at Trump rallies ( you know, real people being attacked and not just signs)

Bigger point is, neither side is immune , but you seem to pretend one is.
I'll start PMing you when I bash Trump or the GOP from now on.

Your interpretation of the 2nd Amendment isn't the only one there is. There was an assault weapons ban in place once, and though there were several challenges to the ban, it was ruled constitutional by the courts. There can be one again. And it will be pushed forward by the changing opinion on weapons of mass destruction being readily available to the general public.

The writing is on the wall. You can choose to ignore it, but doing so doesn't change that fact.
This is the crux right here....... when the ruling was made the AR platform was not specifically mentioned and was not considered a firearm "in common use". It is now the most popular rifle platform in the United States with over 15 million legally owned. The attempted ban on this platform will not withstand a challenge in the Supreme Court today. With all of the proposed laws being attempted now there will be a case that makes it to the court within the next 18 months.

Sorry, kid, if you are 15 years old and a Minor you have NO 2nd Amendment right to own a gun. At least David Hoggs is legally an adult at 18 years old.

Property rights don't come from a piece of paper. Gun rights aren't gifted by the 2nd Amendment.

They are natural rights by virtue of birth.

"I guess"

NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR YOU!

Well, good luck with the rally kid.

.
And when the left held an anti-gun rally they should NOT have made it public and was aired on ALL the national news ?

Did YOU complain THEN?

I doubt it.

HMM, what is wrong with this picture?
