The Judge ordered him to reveal his client list, and it appears he is refusing to do so. Any lawyers here? Is this a sanctionable action?
I haven't seen anything that says Cohen would be required to name his client, but that doesn't mean the judge can't/won't hold him in contempt.
I don't believe he would be able to withhold the name on the basis of attorney-client privilege.
I believe he wouldn't be able to claim privilege on anything with this individual if he refuses to name them.
This issue would require specific research/ It's all guesses until then.
Interesting, but both the article and the comments are speculative. Doesn't mean they're wrong.
Perhaps my problem is I keep thinking there has to be a limit to the stupidity?
But as with all of this, time will tell.
There's no limit in the minds and actions of people so assured of their own invincibility.
Trump Co has gotten away with all kinds of "stuff" over the years and likely believed that they would continue to do so because Trump, in particular, believed his own lies about lack of vetting (Obama) and general ineptitude with regard to the Clinton investigations.
He probably figured that he (too) would be able to cover up all sorts of malfeasance just as he has repeatedly accused them of doing because, despite all allegations to the contrary, both are still without indictments.
Well, surprise, surprise.
Looks like he's wrong on both counts.
Trump obvioulsy afraid of court seeing Cohen's records
Quote:
An attorney for Donald Trump's personal lawyer has told a federal judge that prosecutors should not get to study evidence seized from his personal lawyer until that lawyer and the president have reviewed those materials to see what is subject to attorney-client privilege.
Cohen has been ordered to appear Monday in federal court in New York for arguments over last week's raid. Cohen's attorneys want prosecutors ordered to temporarily halt an examination of the seized material, saying it's protected by attorney-client privilege.
At this point, Trump is more frightened of Cohen than he is of Mueller...
If Trump is the Mob Boss that Comey claims he is, he'll know how to handle that problem.
