Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton of Minnesota has a budget surplus, record low black unemployment, and top notch schools. He has been governor since 2011.

If something is working it should get widely reported. Could it be a model for other states ?

Minnesota has a $329 million budget surplus

Black unemployment reaches record low in Minnesota.

Furthermore, job vacancies are up a stunning 16% since last year.

And they have the 10th best education system in the country

The unemployment rate is a very low 3.2% Source. Even better than Texas!

Clearly liberal Minnesota is doing something right and other states would be wise to emulate their success.

The record low black unemployment is nationwide - which has been noted previously.

A rising tide floats all boats.

That’s impossible. Everyone knows that Democrats are Socialists and Communists, and Socialists and Communists eat babies. Nothing good can possibly come from Democrats.

It was ranked # 13 by Forbes Best States For Business.

Business cost ranking seems to be holding it back. No doubt the GOP tax plan helped it greatly.

Thanks, Mr. Trump !!!

#13 is a good ranking. Remember, there's 50 states plus DC.

It's also ranked #12 in median household income, and #10 in per capita income:

I might also mention it has the 3rd lowest homicide rate of any state:

How will this tax plan, which impacts all states, improve Minnesota's ranking relative to other states?

I assume this has something to do with the Lake Wobegon effet

The majority in the State Senate is Republicans, I think the State House is Republican also.
I am sure we can cherry pick data from Texas to portray a positive CORRELATION between Republicans and a healthy economy.

5.35% on the first $36,650 of taxable income. 7.05% on taxable income between $36,651 and $145,620. 7.85% on taxable income of between $145,621 and $258,260. 9.85% on taxable income of $258,261 and above.

Ouch , no wonder why they have a surplus . Their state income tax is high as hell . Remove that robberyvtax and see where their budget is

I'm told that lowering tax rates will magically increase revenue, but that may only be true when republicans are in power.
