Did they include the abortion numbers in the premature death study?
Per the CDC, 652,639 abortions were done in 2014. The OP's study is from 1990-2016. If all of the aborted had been allowed to live there would have been around 10,442,224 more people walking around during that time period. And, there would have been those, from that group, who would have died prematurely. More than likely enough to dramatically change the numbers, in blue states.

Discounting the numbers would make this study as skewed as a study of car crashes between Californians and the conservative Amish. The numbers would show that Californians would be horrible drivers.

Since 1990, the chance of dying prematurely from the ages of 20 to 55 have gone up more than 10% in West Virginia, Wyoming, Kentucky, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.

Education has always equated w/ overall health. Knowing what to eat, exercising and lifestyle choices usually mean better health.
As well as being successful in a global economy. As long as education is viewed as “elitist” folks who shun higher learning will continue to see themselves as victims, left behind by the ever evolving economy. I have no sympathy for people who refuse to face reality. Those low skilled manufacturing jobs that decades ago paid a living wage are never coming back. Learn a skilled trade or commit to higher education if you expect to survive.
