Imagine watching the media coverage of this when it happens, will be the most watched event (even though we won't see the actual meeting) and perhaps the greatest achievement in world history if Trump really has Kim begging for mercy.
Trump denuking North Korea certainly will be the greatest global achievement by a man, ever.
No, Star Wars was a bigger event when it first came out. If you somehow think Trump will have Kim begging for mercy, you have a really odd understanding of who we are dealing with here. We have two idiots who are so full of themselves that this meeting will be simply one trying to out think and out maneuver the other. This one has disaster written all over it.
But if it makes you feel better, go ahead and have your little fantasy.

meh -- a little more interested in the Animal Assad/Trump/Putin love triangle right now.
When they actually meet - -maybe I'll get all hyped about the Trump/Kim affair.
We are just very lucky that we got the perfect leader at this specific time in history.
If Obama was the President between now and 2024, North Korea would be doing as they please for the next 8 years.....and by 2024 they would be obscenely powerful.
There is one more element in this whole mix that we are underestimating. China has some close ties to NK, and China is not exactly thrilled with us now, over these threats of tariffs. Trump has horrible timing, and for him to upset China right now, when we need them to be sympathetic to our desires in that part of the world, is poor planning on his part.
But this is just like everything else Trump does, blab out something now and then regret it later.
I would nominate President Nixon's visit to China back in the early 1970s. Highly anticipated, closely watched. I enjoyed the news reports of Nixon visiting the Great Wall of China, etc. China was a strange country back in those days, still considered 'third world'.
As for the proposed meeting with NK: I read that talks are, of course, already being held. Contrary to the belief of some, negotiations are usually concluded before the Heads of State meet, which is mainly ceremonial in nature with photo ops.

The tariffs war is only just starting, as Trump said there are THREE phases.
China is being played by Trump, forcing them to intervene with North Korea when they didn't want to....and now on trade I think he'll ultimately force China to renegotiate deals with America by the end of the THREE phases of tariffs.
China is always going to be on the back-foot.

That's never going to happen.
There is zero possibility Kim Jong Un is going to give up his nukes.
