I don't think the Founders ever imagined a situation in which the entire government was not only one-party rule, but that they would be completely complicit in the breakdown of our way of life and rule of law. The checks and balances of power that the Founders were smart enough to include in our system only work if the people in power are actually willing to exercise them. I have seen no indication that Republicans will do that. They are cowards and traitors, and they have the backing of millions of low-information conspiracy theorists who still want to talk about the f****** Clintons.

List the specific things that would've made a Clinton presidency worse. I don't want generic Fox News talking points. I want actual policy that would've happened based on the DNC platform that would've put the country in greater danger than it is presently. In fact, I offer any Trump supporter to answer this.

Fact: Libby lied his ass off. SEVERAL sources told the FBI that they got Plame’s name and position DIRECTLY from Libby AFTER Libby told investigators that he never gave her up to anybody. But then, once the FBI gave him the business about the journalists who snitched him out, he recovered from amnesia all of a sudden.

Federal judges don’t toss 30 months in prison at powerful people for nothing! His own employer, Dubya, refused to pardon him. So don’t sit here with this revisionist crap and try to pass it off to the rest of us.

That said, I thought Dubya should’ve pardoned him, but obviously Bush didn’t think so. Trump has no business pardoning the guy, but he wants brownie points from Cheney and the hard right neocons.
really? fed judges dont toss big sentences at people for nothing? libby was a nothing crime, a low hanging fruit deal that an overzealous special prosecutor trapped him into committing.

here is another one where the punishment didnt fit the crimes. remember watergate? g gordon liddy was sentenced to 20 years for his role, far more than ANY OTHER person in the crime. carter commuted his sentence to 8 years. the reason liddy was sentenced to such a long term? the judge in the case didnt like the fact that liddy wasnt cooperating with investigators in the case.

So if you're not okay with Obama's, why are you defending Trump's? Also, there is absolutely no context given whatsoever for the numbers you're giving (let alone links), which makes them worthless.

Obama pardoned many who were jailed for years for a nickel bag of pot. The sentencing was changed to fewer years. Those who were jailed and had already served way more than the new sentencing guidelines were pardoned.

As for Scooter Libby, he lied , yes. But he was convicted on the word of Judith Miller after she changed her story. He should have been pardoned. Nobody should have outed Valerie Place because they didn't like what her husband said.

Trump pardoned him because the special prosecuted was named by Comey.

Default Trump pardons Scooter Libby, says he was 'treated unfairly'

'treated unfairly'? Who does Trump think he's ****ing kidding?
Quote:
Donald Trump issued a full pardon Friday to I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, suggesting the former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney had been "treated unfairly" by a special counsel at a moment when the president himself faces an escalating special counsel investigation.

Libby, Cheney's former chief of staff, was convicted in 2007 of lying to investigators and obstruction of justice following the 2003 leak of the covert identity of CIA officer Valerie Plame. President George W. Bush later commuted Libby's 30-month prison sentence but didn't issue a pardon despite intense pressure from Cheney.

Even Bush refused to pardon Libby, but Trump does it to send a dog whistle to his cronies that might need a pardon down the road apiece. Get this treacherous mob boss out of The White House!!!

Trump to pardon ex-Cheney staffer convicted of leaking CIA agent's identity: report

I cannot believe the GOP used to consider themselves the "law and order" party. They sound completely criminal.
I didn't know he was officially charge for "obstruction of justice," but most people seemed to think it came under the heading of "treason.
