That's the grandest penalty of all you could say of being on the losing side of history. You never get to tell your side of the story and are forever relegated to being the 2-dimensional bad guys where people get to sit around 70 years later and pretend all of this stuff happened in a vacuum for no apparent reason. Perhaps subjects like this are a bit too complicated and nuanced for most people. They need the easy conclusions.
About "neutral sources" giving the German perspective? How about Goebbels' diaries that he kept from 1924 to 1945. Ironically his successful mass manipulation of political opinion was all about spin.

There are no both sides. There were the perpetrators and their victims. There are facts and there is denial of same. Understanding what led to a country falling into evil is nothing like having a "side" of the story. That's like saying Trump and his supporters have a "side" to their hatred and evil toward minorities. Oh wait, you probably think they do. You'd have made a nice Nazi.

We all know about the war reparations from WWI, the resulting hyperinflation and collapse of the German economy. Something that, while unfortunate, lets not forget that Germany brought unpon themselves in the first place.

But understanding all of that does not change the story at all. As you implied yourself, there is no excuse for what Germany did. So what are we talking about here?

I think no book tells the story of how Germany re built while world was spiralling into depression. May be he got rid of the "Swindlers" during those years.

That said we can understand and define what led up to it, what fueled it, what created the perfect storm which allowed average everyday people to suddenly ignore something so horrific.

That storm was caused by the Treaty of Versailles. The victors were greedy, punitive and went way to far. This crushed the German economy, and caused inflation to skyrocket.

Look no further than our own country. Someone needs to be blamed. That is the nature of the human beast. Guilt has nothing to do with it.
Why the Jews? Were they all bad no, not even most, but some were. All's it takes is the some were. Look at the rabid lefts attack on all gun owners.... Are all maniacs looking to slaughter people? No, but some, a very few are. So those who hate guns will use the some are argument. Just like the Nazis used the Jews are bad and they could show that some were bad.
Starving desperate people need a villain to blame and the Nazis gave them one. But it all began with the Treaty of Versailles.
Could you give some examples of the Jews who were "bad" and how? I mean, how were a minority people who were also citizens of the same country, working alongside other citizens of that country, "bad"?
