All I had been hearing was that Assad nearly had this civil war won...why would he even use chemical weapons knowing that it could provoke the US-France-UK?

Don't know if that means if they will be firing on ships or incoming missiles or trying to fire on ground troops

Assad has used chemicals on his own people or the Kurds more than 30 times or more since our last strike---
Why NOW???
Because of Bolton
Because of the Cohen/SDNY investigation?
Mueller investigation?
Bad hair day???
I think it's all of the above. And thanks to Trump, Russia and Syria know exactly where the missiles are coming from. Idiot.

I don't know if Trump was completely wrong in bombing the Chemical plants, but civilians will die.

Tomorrow Trump will declare success in Washington.

Tomorrow more Syrians will bury their dead.
We're bombing the rubble in Damascus!

That's the question a lot of people are asking.

Read the comments on the Breitbart article posted earlier in the thread. Many people think this was a false flag.

I'm actually surprised Trump waited a whole year to start a war. I expected one much sooner.

As little as I think of Trump, even I have trouble believing he would take this step without some proof. Still ... the question can get complicated with both military grade and homemade sarin around.

So who knows ... Bolton would go for it (regardless, for this really undercuts Iran his nemesis) ... the Saudis ... but the British, French?

Trump isn't the first president to launch an attack to distract from his domestic problems nor will he be the last.

He has been a criminal in power for years

But Trump has cut off aid to Syria I believe
And Trump's posturing earlier has only given warning of intent
Last time our missle strikes did no appreciable damage at all
Because Trump ran his tweet
And they moved their planes

So now same thing--all kinds of telegraphing of our response--
It is just so stupid IMO and goes against what Trump always says about his strategic thinking--
Not to warn what our response will be...

I don't know how anyone who allows him to hold his phone can look in the mirror and not be sick at his/her stomach....

This effort seems much more heavy and widespread than Trump's first missle strike
And "precision" strikes on multiple sites might take out some equipment and likely people
But Assad can get more equipment from Putin
And he is still going to be in power...
How does this strike change that part of the equation???

15 days ago Trump announced the US would pull out of Syria “ very soon”, consistent with his campaign rhetoric.

Then the chemical attack. Trump said there was a real possibility the US would bomb. Then a few days later he tried to walk it back.

Nicki Haley now claims this was the 50th time Assad had used chemical weapons on its own people. Was Trump unaware of this when he announced pulling out of Syria?

Russia blamed Israel, then the UK, for this chemical attack.

So what has changed, day to day, besides the installation of Bolton.
