Right, then you've seen this happen all the time. Do you go & check every patron to see if a. They have a beverage, salad, sandwich or pastry & b. Do you ask every person in there if they're waiting for someone? Your claim is just bizarre.

Waiting to have a business meeting, huh ?

It was reported they used the rr and then refused to leave when asked to, as they had not bought anything.

This happens all the time to keep homeless from hanging around establishments.

They should have bought a drink while waiting....

6 cops is not too many if staff told 911 they were uncooperative and refused to leave...it
could have turned bad if they resisted arrest.

Do you do all these things?

All I said was, When I go to Starbucks or any other coffee shop, most people order right away....while they wait for their friends....
They just don't sit there and hang out.

At least not at the Starbucks I go to. At Dunking Donuts I see it more often...

What is so bizarre about that? lol

The chief executive of Starbucks apologized Saturday to two black men arrested at a Philadelphia store in an incident that has led to accusations of racial profiling by the company and police.

In a statement to Starbucks customers and employees Saturday, CEO Kevin Johnson acknowledged “a disheartening situation in one of our Philadelphia-area stores this past Thursday, that led to a reprehensible outcome.”

The Starbucks official acknowledged that the incident is at odds with what many people have done at a Starbucks without drawing suspicion or calls to police. The stores are “community” hubs, the official said, where people often drop in to use the WiFi or chat with friends without necessarily ordering anything.

Now...calling the cops was kind of lame.

No matter how many times you try to explain to certain folks on here that the white customers in that very same Starbucks were treated quite differently than those two black guys that were arrested (white customers were allowed to come in and wait for a much longer period of time without buying anything), these folks will never get it.

It's almost as if they know deep in their hearts that this is wrong, that there ARE racial double standards unfairly applied to black people, but in order to stubbornly stick to their narrow minded political viewpoints and beliefs that there is 'no' racism in America, they overcompensate by instead blaming those that are racially stereotyped.

Same principle as that one incident where a bar refused entry to a black guy who was wearing a cap. Of course the usual suspects here came up with the usual excuses, it's the bars right to do as they wish, blah blah blah. Never mind that white customers also wearing headwear were allowed into the same bar.
Yes! So true. Excellent post.

Sad, but true.
