We are probably the LOWEST taxed in all the developed countries of the world.

When will it end with this s#*mbag lying president? Every day more and more lies and it goes on.

It cheapens whatever point the POTUS is trying to make when he can't get basic facts right.

Well put! -- That's about all the left has left - cheap character attacks at every turn, with no real issues.

TDS never gets old.
Its great political sport selling hats and tee-shirts across the country. I wonder if resellers are collecting tax. Maybe that's the real issue. We need an investigation for sure.

Many of the websites reporting comparative tax rates avoid totalization of taxes and ignore overall spending - which inevitably drives up future taxes.

2016 DATA
http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/..._spending.html
GDP: $18,472.0 billion
Population: 324.0 million

PERCAPITA:
GDP : $ 57,012.35
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
FED : $ 12,345.9 (21.6%)
STATE: $4,922.3 (8.6%)
LOCAL: $5,459.0 (9.5%)
TOTAL : $22,727.2 (39%)
. . . . . . . . . .
Percent = 100 x ($22,727.2 / $57,012.35)
39% of the GDP is taxed by all government
. . . . . . . . . .
Egyptian serfs under Pharaoh had a better deal (one part in five - 20% taxation).
. . . . . . . . . .
It gets worse
https://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/currency_12773.htm
Q: How much U.S. currency is in circulation?
A: There was approximately $1.61 trillion in circulation as of January 24, 2018, of which $1.56 trillion was in Federal Reserve notes. (Dollar bills)

● Federal Budget (2017): $3.65 Trillion (in dollar bills)
● Debt Service (2017): $474.5 Billion
● Budget Deficit (2017): $666 Billion
*Note: CONgress borrowed MORE than it paid in interest. Old investors are being paid “interest” with new investor funds. Didn't Bernie Sanders go to prison for doing that in the private sector?

Wuh Woh, Scooby...

Pointing out that someone's statement is provably wrong is not ad hominem. Your post is a bit like saying "US taxes are the highest in the world" - it sounds clever and relevant in the moment, but it just isn't the case.

Old news.

Would have been more accurate to have said the US is among the highest corporate taxing nations when comparing statutory rates. The devil is in the detail and effective rates of taxation are highly variable.

It also was not true when he said the US is the only country to tax world- wide income.

Politicians use propaganda to drive their agenda. It's as bipartisan as it gets.
