Libertarians are personal freedom fundamentalists.
True libertarians even complain about needing a drivers license and a Social Security number.
I am weary of ideologues of any kind (left, right, etc.). Ideologues always think they have the answer for everything...
True, but I'll note that libertarianism isn't meant to be an answer to everything. It's the idea that you should respect individual rights simply because of people's humanity.
I also happen to believe everyone is better off that way, but that's not the primary reason for it...similar to arguing against something like Kim Jong Un's control of North Korea.
You wouldn't say "well, the stuff he does could be improved upon, and he's making the country poorer, so it's not very practical", as if it would be totally fine to control the population the way he does, if only it led to some result that you like. No, you'd be against it because those are human beings, and Kim Jong Un has no right to do what he's doing to them.
If you want a totally extreme example, it's probably better practically for society to just kill off the people who take more than they contribute. I think most people realize that it doesn't matter if that benefits society as a whole, because you're violating those people's inherent rights. That's what libertarianism is all about.
There is a difference between (L)ibertarians and (l)ibertarians.
There are also differences between antifederalists, minarchists, agorists, voluntaryists, and anarcho-capitalists.
Anacps like No Recess and I typically start out as antifeds, then make our way down the line. It usually takes 12-18 months for the full awakening.
There ya go with that religious language...
