He'll be glad for the attention, he's like the Westoboro church with a business that thrives on controversy where they are the news themselve. Even if he loses he still wins... I don't see them as being successful, the bar for defamation/libel is pretty damn high and even if you prove it you still need to prove what financial damages were incurred.
How would you like it if you lost a child and some creep on the radio was claiming it didn’t happen?
But that isn't defamation.

I'm reading the article, and I can't see how Jones defamed these people.
It will be interesting to see how this turns out, I just can't see these people winning this case, but then again, maybe that isn't the point, is it.

On January 4, 1973, as school was letting out, I was telling my friend, Bob, that my father was hours or days away from dying of cancer. Ken walked up to me and told me "serves him (my father) right for smoking." My father died in the wee hours on January 5, 1973. Did I have the right to sue Ken?
I think not.

The fact that you don't understand the First Amendment "speaks volumes."

Great story and my condolences about your father. The two situations are totally different. Did Ken question your Dad's existence, did he slander your dad by saying he deserves to die no, it's a stupid statment but slander no. Jones questioned the very lives of all the children and made their parents relive it all over everytime he accused it of never happening and being made up. Again two different things all together.

He didn't question , he stated as fact that it was a conspiracy and that it never happened. He defamed dead children............I hope it's a jury trial in Connecticut.

Thanks for the condolences. My point is that hurtful and insulting statements are not actionable.
And yes, based on prior statements Ken wanted my father, my mother and myself to die.
