POTUS leaking again, nothing new. Most news being leaked by POTUS and WH staff. It could be fake news just to deflect from the Russia problem.

I do not see what the problem with this is. We should want dialogue with North Korea and deescalation. I don't care if it needs to be done in a clandestine fashion.

Rather odd that the director of the CIA would be involved in such meetings. Of course, we do not have a secretary of state.

Odd that this news was released now. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that Mr. Pompero is being considered for S of State, and his chances of being confirmed is, at least, doubtful.

Anyway, I hope that something good comes of these negotiations with North Korea. I heard one commentator say that having a high-level official meet with the leader of NK is giving the regime 'credibility'. However, Ms. Albright once met with the current leader's father, so I discount such criticism.

As to whether President Trump and the NK leader will meet: we must recall that Presidents do not, as a rule, actually sit with foreign leaders and personally negotiate. Such negotiations are conducted prior to any such 'summit' meeting. The 'summits' are more of a formality to announce any agreement already reached. Hence, Mr. Trump's saying that 'who knows' if the meeting will actually take place.

Pompeo will be Secretary Of State after Senate hearings.
Also, nobody has been closer to Trump than Pompeo, constantly giving him CIA briefings.

This foreign policy approach is a 180 from Obama's tepid, backseat approach to all issues. Seems we are actually trying to solve problems instead of speak around them

Not surprised this is getting very little attention around here, the quality of discussions are poor to say the least.

Yep, nothing but crickets here.

Imagine the reaction the leftists would have if Trump ends the Korean war, and the peninsula unites.

That was the first thing that occurred to me, too. Unbelievable that the U.S. doesn't have a functioning Secretary of State.

I guess it really doesn't matter what someones title is as long as they can get the job done. However, it is unfortunate that our president is such a twister of the truth while directing persons to take action s that will affect everyones lives. The people he gets to do these things in the name of you and I have their own personal interests beyond their job as priority and that includes lieing also if Trump commands it. Because he commands loyalty and to be loyal Trump will eventually expect you to lie to the American people.
