Killing tens of thousands of innocent people is not being a "lamp upon the world". It's called being a terrorist nation.
To what do you refer?
In war, people die. We have had tens of thousands of our men and women killed by our enemies. On 9/11 alone, 3,000 people died. During WWII, the Japanese were killing thousands, and thousands more of our people would have died if we had not chosen to drop "the bomb" on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In doing that, we saved thousands of American lives. The Japanese at the time, were committing unspeakable atrocities in the Western Pacific. They were ruthless killers, and they used their own people as suicide bombers, much like the jihadists today.
Germany was killing thousands of people too.
Should we have done nothing?
If you think America is a "terrorist nation," perhaps you don't belong here. You are not 'American.' I'll bet you never served your country.

WWII over 70 years ago we got involved and it was the right thing to do then.
The problem is in the 70 or so years since then our involvements in foreign conflicts have not been so clear cut.
Yes 3,000 people died in 9/11 because Muslim terrorists who were officially part of any country killed them. So part of our response was to invade Iraq and topple the government there. We also toppled the government in Afghanistan. Almost 20 years later both countries are still a mess, thousands of Americans are dead the terrorists are still there. And $2.4 Trillion was spent.
Yesterday I was watching the Netflix documentary about the Flint PD. Good hard working Americans. Due to budget cuts their police force has been cut 70%. Yet we spent $2.4 trillion where the money is basically gone, sucked out of our country with little if anything to show for it.

For us to ignore the plight of others who are suffering under unspeakable crimes being committed against them, murder and mayhem, wold be unthinkable.
Brigitte Gabriel recently stated that when she was a girl in Lebanon, suffering under Muslim persecution, she and her family prayed daily that America would come to their rescue.
We never helped Rwanda when the Tutsi's begged for help from the Hutu's who were commiting genocide on them, but then again, Rwanda doesn't have oil or any other natural resources that we would want to exploit, so......
I quit after reading this, " Retirement Benefits Will Likely Be Cut."
Emphasis on "Will likely".
Look at the majority of what is reported in the news and its all about speculation centered around similar words. Not fact based at all. Its not information its indoctrination propaganda on parade.
if, likely, maybe, looks like, could be, might, perhaps, sources said, unknown people close to, possible, it may not, it may be, we don't know yet, we may never know, we can't know, but be can speculate because that is the real business we are in.
Not the news business but the speculation business. Its the money maker news never was.
It makes a strong case why the Turkey should be the bird to replace the Eagle and it won't hurt anyone's pay check.
Oh, the "show them love, and they will respond in kind" theory. How did that help in N. Korea? Bill Clinton gave them everything they needed ...and with it, they began a nuclear weapons program.
Obama made a "deal" (illegal) with Iran, and they are continuing their nuclear weapons program and are a much bigger threat than ever before.
Kindness toward evil is not a weapon. That is not what Jesus meant when he said, "Love your enemies."
It's why we will be retaliated against. I've said it before and will again......they lose 20,000 and we lose 200 and they win.

Much like the threats to us from Iraq and N. Korea.......to note, WV tried to cut the teachers benefits to give tax cuts until the people joined the teachers and said "no".
