Article above states that it is "unknown" when she became Catholic. There are contradictory stories regarding her baptism...with some reports saying she wasn't baptized because Slovenia was behind the Iron Curtain, and some saying she was.

Regardless, when Melania met with Pope Francis in 2017, she brought her rosary beads to be blessed, prayed at the chapel there, and laid flowers at a statue of Mary.

That article says she's Catholic because she visited the Vatican with Trump once. Literally, there's no other supporting facts of her religion other than that.
