I know Dave.. Looney Americans are flocking to a lost cause.

They want to die at home, because their insurance has run out, by God.

FREEEEEEEEDOM.. and liberty.

Are people dying at home because their insurance ran out?

I dont know about the UK, but we Americans cherish our freedom of choice - it might not be the best or rational choice, but its still our choice to make.
We Americans are not free to choose to abuse our children.

Well, some apparently have taken the time to figure it out:

British death panels, Canadas wait to die system and americas insurance based system are all horrible ways to go. Common denominator with all three? They are state run/ controlled/regulated.
Get the guv out, health care should be between you and your provider and no one else.

Except the decision had nothing to do with Government.

If this decision had something to do with Government then every decision made in the US Courts and the US Supreme Court is down to Trump or whoever else is Predsident.

Some of the US Commentators like Glenn Beck even tried to link this with a case of a driver given an 8 month sentence for perverting the course of justice, which had nothing to do with the obscene gestures made by the driver.

Speed camera jammers sold online as a way to outwit the police - The Telegraph

As already explained the final decision is made by the European Court of Human Rights which can overrule 47 European Member States with a population of around 800 million.

Sadly some Americans, although only a smalll minority seem not to be able to take the truth on board and seem to believe nonsense rightwing media and religous fundamentalist groups.

I suggest people actually read the case, which saw medical experts from the UK, Germany and Italy all in agreement, as well as the UK Courts and European Convention on Human Rights.

As for taking the child home the hospital was in discussion with the parents, as specialist care and pain relief was required.

I have already pointed out the law including the European Court of Human Rights as well as similar cases in the US.

The case relied on medical evidence from experts from the UK, Germany and Rome, all of whom were in agreement that the child had a rare neurodegenerative disease, had severe brain irrepairable brain damage and was terminally ill.

The only question being asked of the Court was in regard to what was the most appriopriate pallative end of life care to ensure the child died without pain and with proper levels of care.
They had a visa, transport and a hospital willing to take him.

The govt put police in riot gear OUTSIDE THE HOSPITAL ROOM so the parents could not take the child.

That's murder. And what will the autopsy say? That the child died of starvation/dehydration because the hospital WITHHELD nutrition/water.

When the parents were ready to remove the child and simply transfer him to another.

IMO, the parents should have been allowed to take their child to Italy.

What were the drs. in Italy planning to do that could not be done where the child was? Why didn't the Italian drs come to the child?
