Big news, a document will be signed to officially end the Korean war, and to de-nuclearize the entire region.
Credit Trump's tweets calling out "Rocket Man" and his tough talk - for getting accomplished what all other presidents since the 1950's, have been unable to do.
Anyone think this would have happened with Crooked Hillary in charge?
No. But I do think there's a good chance we'd be at war with the North Koreans had Crooked Hillary got underway.

Trump had nothing to do with it. China clearly sent a message that North Korea could not refuse. Nobody cares what Trump thinks.

Its a complicated issue that neither the rabid Trump haters nor Trump fanatics seem to be able to grasp.
The world does care what America thinks. No matter who is president. Don't fool yourself.
IMHO Trump antagonized Kim. Kim responded by having an ever increasing aggressive tone threatening neighboring countries and the US. Trump made it clear that nothing was off the table including a massive assault of N. Korea. China had no choice but to intervene. Without China's backing Kim's regime would crumble.
Trump took a chance and rolled the dice. In this instance it worked. Does this embolden Trump into carrying out this brand of foreign policy elsewhere? Hopefully not. But to say Trump deserves zero credit when he got all the blame for his aggressive stance with N. Korea in the first place is just sour grapes by the left.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in credited U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday for helping to spark the first inter-Korean talks in more than two years, and warned that Pyongyang would face stronger sanctions if provocations continued.
I really appreciate this president. It's long overdue that we've finally elected a leader who is willing to take on the difficult and unpopular, but necessary issues that we should always be expecting from our elected leaders. Yes, he's a flawed individual just like everyone else on this planet. Pay no mind to the Pavlovian Trump haters. It's a waste of time reasoning with some people who don't even know why they hate the man other than being instructed by the 24/7 media outlets who have had a collective & psychotic meltdown beginning on the night Trump won the election. He's trying to do get things done, and that is more than I could say for most of our so called leaders and representatives from both of the 2 major parties in Washington DC.

I don't care if Trump had sex with some porn star, just as I didn't care when Clinton and Monica had their thing going on. I also don't care about Trump's history of childish behavior, a lot of which is humorous and actually spot on.
You're right. He's been a great president, just as I thought Clinton was a great president (welfare reform, strong economy).

No, an assault on NK was never on the table, both sides were just having big mouths, the whole gorilla show that doesn't impress anyone. SK simply did not want an escalation, to the contrary, SK and Trump actually disagreed on the approach to NK, SK all but asked Trump to back off. There has been a clear shift in SK. The new SK president is very different from his corrupt predecessor who was a hawk.
The SK president has a difficult task in diplomatic terms, he doesn't want to offend anyone, but still has to get his messages across. A little compliment here, a little warning there. He seemed really happy at the summit, it shows that SK and NK are the same people, there is a connection that can never be there with a Western country.
NK got what it wanted, it developed functioning nuclear bombs, which had been their goal for decades. The NK president needed that in order to live up to his iconic status in NK. At the same time, with his goal achieved, his motivation has kind of crumbled away because as he had already said before, he doesn't have a problem with South Koreans, NK doesn't want a conflict with SK at all. The whole paranoia served its odd purpose for decades, but now it has lost its purpose as NK knows very well that they urgently need economic reforms most of all. I suppose China will help them a lot in the years to come. SK might also open joint projects such as factories producing stuff for SK companies.
With the whole war scenario gone, NK faces the problem of deciding what to do with its giant army, massive unemployment is dangerous and could lead to unrest.
